According to Ben from AmeriCorps Alums,
The march will set up at the Pentagon around 10:30 AM on January 20th . Everyone will be screened there and receive a box lunch (thanks Armed Forces Parade Committee!) before heading to the beginning of the march. The Metro will be running, however there will be large delays. So, I plan on leaving in plenty of time. No one is recommended to carry vehicles because there will be no parking at the Pentagon.
The parade will begin on January 20, 2009 at 2:30 p.m. at the steps of the U.S Capital Building and proceed along Pennsylvania Avenue to the White House. Tickets are not required. The public will not be allowed to lineup along the parade route before 7 a.m. A map of the route can be found at http://dc.about.com/library/maps/blmapinauguration.htm.
We will be expected to walk 3-4 miles and it is expected to take 3-4 hours. Warm layers and comfortable shoes are a must. We do have to stand in line formation. Each row will have something to carry, a banner or an American or state flag and AmeriCorps signs. I will tell you later if I will be carrying the Maryland state flag and my position in the formation as more information is provided. So stay tune!
